About the Initiative

The Mattapan Neighborhood of Opportunity Initiative, led by the Boston Opportunity Agenda, in partnership with the City of Boston, is a community-driven effort to transform the neighborhood into a place where all residents—especially children and young people ages 0-22—can thrive. This initiative aims to improve neighborhood conditions and expand access to opportunities, ensuring lasting benefits for the entire community by fostering greater stability, economic mobility, and overall well-being. By bringing together community voices, data, and collaboration, we can help shape a Mattapan where young people and families don’t just live, they thrive.
